The Media Angel was founded in 2008 by our Managing Director, Alison Debono, with one clear aim – to give businesses truly impartial media advice and access to the best possible mix of channels to achieve their goals. We’re proud to be the first media agency in Wales to be founded by a woman – a milestone that reflects our determination to do things differently from day one.
Alison’s career began in radio, selling airtime and sponsorships at Red Dragon Radio (now Capital South Wales), before moving into publication sales and later TV sales for S4C. Each role gave her invaluable insight into how different media work – but also highlighted a frustration: she could only ever offer clients one channel at a time.
Alison knew businesses needed a partner who could take an unbiased, big-picture approach – planning campaigns across all platforms and recommending only what would deliver the best results. She realised that working for a media agency could offer that freedom, but she also wanted to create an agency with a more personal, flexible, and results-focused way of working.
And so, The Media Angel was born – an agency free to plan and buy across all platforms radio, TV, VOD, OOH, press, and digital, all tailored to the client’s needs.
From the very start, Alison built the business on strong industry relationships. In fact, every member of our current team began as a trusted contact within the media world – professionals we admired and respected. Those relationships evolved into partnerships, and today our passionate team brings a combined 70 years of media experience to every campaign.
